My question is does the viscous coupler disengage under deceleration?

I read all the good write ups on how the 4404 transfer case works and how to rebuild and from that info I would guess it does but wonder if anyone has any experience with that. The reason I'm asking is I'm building a Explorer V8 AWD swap into a Ranger that I'll be using for ice racing and if the front disengages when I get out of the gas the car will rotate into the next turn and that is a favorable thing.

Here is the project...

The whole idea of the viscous coupling was to provide "differential" capability between front and rear driving axles. No means is provided of altering it's operation, it's always in action. imp
