4Low not working properly. Need help

I'm having a problem with the 4x4 in my 95 explorer. It goes into 4high no problem, soon as you click it over to 4high the light comes on and you can hear it. However when you change it to 4Low it doesn't go in right away . You can put it on 4Low but seems to take a while of driving before it actually kicks in. Any reasons why this would be? Is this maybe a vacuum leak of some sort?

Did you check the shift motor rebuild sticky thread on the top of the transmission section? It is loaded with a lot of valuable information.

Do you have it in neutral with the brake in, completely stopped when you switch it into 4-low?

Oh no I did not. I'll try that. I also hit up that thread. Thanks for the help.

Well slap me stupid. I was trying to put it in 4low while in drive. Works fine putting in neutral than going to 4low.
