4r70w stuck in second gear od light flashing

I have a 2000 5.0 the transmission went out I just finished putting in a replacement it is a 4r70w out of a 95-96 f150 I cannot get it to shift out of second I swapped over all the sensors from the other tranny and still not working still has a flashing od off light please help I am frustrated I need this fixed so I can go to work thanx.

First,
did you compare the wiring schematic from the 2 transmission valve bodies? I suspect the year difference is the key to your issue.

I "think" the valve body wiring could be different.

Where do I find a schematic on the transmission? Could I swap everything over from the other tranny?

In 98 it all changed, they went from internal wire harness to a circuit board connector. The pins in the connector have changed and the solenoids are different as well.

I have never done it but you should be able to swap it all over, the valve bodys will have to come out to get the connector out and you will have to loosen the internal linkage to get the EPC solenoid out. The valve body itself should not be swapped over just all the solenoids and connectors. Its the only thing you can try short of getting another transmission.
