i just bought a 4r70w off ebay for 22.00 the case is bad i found a case for it the tag # on mine is xl2p-7000-ba the case that i would like to buy the tag #is xl3p-7000-ja glacier i was hoping you would know if this would be the same just diff year or something?

First off I am no expert on this. In fact have asked before for some guidance and come up empty handed. The XL3P is newer year ad the JA suggests a case that is newer... find the casting marks... month and year.

Far as I know.... (take this with a grain of salt) The running changes related to lubrication circuits etc... I do not think there was a functional difference amongst 4R70W's...case wise) so later IS better. Just be sure and check the starter bolt hole count.

You planning on rebuilding your 4R70W ? I've got tons of parts if you need anything.

havent decided yet if i can find a buyer locally i will probably rebuild it, but i may tear it down and part it out just couldnt pass it up for 22.00 and 40.00 shipping? but then again i think it would be fun to rebuild it, but hate to sink money into it without being able to sell it. when i decide i will let you know in case i need some parts dont have a case do you?(ha-ha)
