Well my 4r70w project arrived today and it needs alot. I posted some pics so maybe i could get some input as to what year this one is? also of the damage it has im either going to rebuild it or part it out. Only paid 25.00 for it
I dont know what goes here it looks like a servo bore or something?(pic 1)

Looks like a two bolt starter case (pic 2)

# on the sideofthe case RF-F7SP-7006-AA(pic3)

output sensor i guess(pic4)

sorry i havent figured out how to post pictures in sequence with writing?

OK pic one is where the electrical connector will go i believe?

Your case is toast. That bellhousing in non-repairable. The rear hole in the 2WD extension housing is for the speedo. The other hole is for the case electrical connector.

OK IM GETTING A LITTLE CONFUSED WITH THESE TAG#s AND ID TAG#s IF I SEARCH FOR THE TAG# WHICH IS XL29-7000-BA IT GOES FOR A 92-97 EXPLORER ? BUT IF I SEARCH THE CASTING# F7SP IF IT IS A 2 BOLT STARTER IT WILL WORK WITH 5.0L,3.8L,4.2L ? GLACIER IF YOU DONT MIND WHAT WAS THE CASTING# OFF YOURS?
THANKS
BRAD

Brad, I just wanted to answer your question about posting pictures in sequence with text. You post the picture, then hit the return key, then type your text, then hit the return key again. Every time you start a picture, or text, just hit the return key. This will let you have pictures with text in the same thread.

thanks brooklyn bay there is probably nothing worse that looking at a thread like this as my puncuation is not the greatest as well.
thanks brad

ok never mind went ahead and dug into it its missing all servos, accumalators, and the only thing that looks good are some internals, planetary looks good, pumps looks good thats about as far as i got. but i would have to sink to much money in it to rebuild it (damn i wanted the experience )oh well off to ebay with the good parts maybe i can make a little money there.

The tag number is the transmission number. The case casting is something different.

You could give the broken aluminum parts to a scrap metal place. You might get a few dollars for them, so you didn't lose out on your $25 investment. Try to sell the parts here first in the for sale section. If nobody wants them after a couple of weeks, then put it on EBay.

A case will get you about $20 in recycle money.

here are some measurements i took from the seperator plate that i found interesting? it doesent seem to be perfectly true?
