im asking this on this forum because it has the best write up on the net regarding the internals of the 4r70w
ive got a customers van ive been working on up on the lift....im converting the whole thing to 4x...all of the "hard" work is done axles swapped etc and it drives great..now for the tricky bits
he wants to keep his 4r70w and i cant blame him....were looking at getting it rebuilt but i KNOW the output shaft must be changed to the 4x unit..we have the tcase sitting here allready as well as drive lines ready to be cut/balanced
what output shaft do i need for it...ive come across a few different shafts on ebay etc and i want to make sure i end up with the "right" output shaft....i also allready have the tail houseing...
next question is..if there is multiple 4x shafts how do i ID what i "need" and can any of that be done before i have the trans blown apart by the shop
the van is a 02 with the 5.4 and only 90k on the clock
