Hi every one

I Want to install something to increase the traction, either a diff lock or (ARB AirLocker or Eaton ELocker) or a Helic LSD (Eaton Detroit TrueTrac) in both front and rare

I don't know what Differentials do I Have

I think I have 5R55S GearBox With Axle Code 45 (3.55 open)

I think the rare deffirential is ford 8.8 with spline 31 and ratio 3.55

and I don't know what is the front differential???

My VIN#1FMEU73E98UA38143

In the tag plate on the rare differential I found this:

V604N 88
355 7K09

So any one can tell me what differential do I have?

what should I install as lockers (with part number please)?

best regards

to find out what your rear diff is, look along the inside edge of the driver's side door and find out your axle code.

Once you get that, do a search on here for "axle code __"

That will tell you the rear.

For the front, go to this link and look at page 10 as listed on the PDF:

Dead Link Removed

If your front diff looks like that it is most likely the same thing on the 2002-2005 model explorers, which is a Dana Super 30/186

The dana 35 was last used in 2001, so unless they started using them in the 2006+ models then I think you probably have a dana super 30.

edit: whoops...you already had your rear axle figured out, sorry.

I went under the car and this is what I found

On the differential housing

FoMoCo
2003979
D-026
6L24-3010-A
ALsi8CU3ZNFE
MKC8 55476

On the long Shaft
KPP 12 49806

but No model# as shown in the link!!!

excellent so can I use Eaton TrueTrac?

I've emailed Eaton before a week ago but no reply till now :(

today I have confirmed with Eaton and Power Train that the front end of explorer 4th gen is slightly different than 3rd gen (a special version of Dana 30) and there for there is no locker suits it

and I only have the option to install a Eaton Detroit TrueTrac 913A561 to the rare
