4x2 tranny in a 4x4 - Will it work???

Hey everyone,
First post, but been hanging around for a long time. I own a 91 4x4 explorer with the 4.0 and auto trans with manual hubs. I have a 2nd 91 with the 4.0, auto trans and auto hubs. I have a 92 4x2 with 4.0 and auto trans. I need help to determine if the auto trans from the 4x2 will bolt up to the 91 4x4 with auto trans and auto hubs? I really enjoy this forum and would really appreciate any help on this question.

You would need to change the tailhousing and output shaft on the 2wd tranny to fit the 4x4 transfercase. The tranny body itself is the same.
