4x4/awd to 2wd...

Well everybody I have been looking for a project truck here for a while. It seems that I have found one. my Friend is tired of fixing his '97 4.0L Ex, which he made a V8 AWD. So i will be purchasing it off of him pretty cheap, and proceeding with my project Ex. First thing first I need to make it 2wd, you know for sick burnouts, and less weight. so I am on the hunt for a 2wd Ex for parts, I plan on grabbing the tail shaft, drive shaft, and front spindles. is there anything else I would need for the swap to be complete? Just making sire my list is complete so when I find one I can have everything I need to get it gong ASAP, planning on hitting the strip in the spring of 2016!!!

Why not just do a 4406 swap and save all that time/work. If you really want to stop the stuff from spinning up front just throw on some AVS manual hubs too. This way you have true 2wd but still can toss it in 4x4 if you want to.

I have considered that, BUT all the extra weight I would save without the transfer case, drive shaft, axles, and front diff is A LOT. it will basically be a slightly build drag truck, I would like to take it to drag week during the next couple of years.
