:thumbdwn: Having a problem with my four wheel drive. It seems to adjust into 4x4 fine, however, i periodically hear a clunk from the front, as if something is slipping, every 100 meters or so. I believe the 4x4 is still active, but it certainly doesn't feel as secure on the road as it did before this problem started. I think the clunk is isolated to the driver side.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Need more info:

When does it clunk? When in 2H with the hubs unlocked? In 4H? In 2H with the hubs locked?
Are you operating 4H on a paved surface?
Do you have a set of 4 matched tires? I once had mismatched tires on my BII and the 4WD would bind and clunk ("bang" more like it) periodically.
Do you still have the stock auto hubs, or have you installed manual hubs?

its a 2002...they dont have lockable huns and all that stuff.nthey did away with that since the 2nd gens. I believe your truck is still under warrenty, take it to the stealership and have them check it out.

he has two trucks.
You need to post all the info you can when asking for help.
Which truck? How many miles? Auto or manual hubs? assume this is pushbutton 4x4 and the lights are working?
