ok since my 4x4 shop doesnt really do many engines swaps, i need a little help from you guys. I was thinking about swapping in a 5.0 out of a 97 explorer, but i really want to make it 5spd, but i want to keep the cost down as low as possible but do it right, soo im goin to the shop down the street they said they give me a discount, but how much does swapping a 5.0 cost
include in the price parts, and labor

(all the wireing and computer is all include with the 5.0)

that depends...... sorry there si no way to tell

it doesnt have to be right, i just want a estimate on how much this stuff cost,

well first off if you are going 5 speed then the Explorer 5.0L is not th eright one for you, you see the Explorer 5.0L only came with a auto trans which is computer controlled and that same computer controls the engine/ignition/fuel, etc.

So using an Explorer GT-40 5.0L to start with and then tossing the computer and transmission is like working backwards.

Do some research.

I have seen carbed 5.0L conversions done for $2000, I have seen $45K 5.0L conversions using all new everything with tons of HP and then I did my own 5.0L conversion, spent about $6500 but I did all the work myself, $1500 of that was for the drivetrain from a 98 with 53K miles, $500 for a radiator, $500 for a T case adapter and $700 for a soft rebuild on the trans and adapter install.
.
So you can see there is no one answer, but you can guess if you are paying a shop to do this, $10K +
