Hundreds of Mustang Dyno tests confirmed that the 302 does not need anything larger than a 65mm throttle body for normally aspirated stock RPM use(below 5000RPM).

A 70mm will gain a minute amount of power, and you will lose some bottom end power. Thus a 70mm throttle is a wash for an Explorer, and a 75mm throttle body would lose more power, on average.

Stick with the stock TB, and put money into something which will help. The MAF meter could be a little larger, and it would not kill bottom end power. Good luck,

Agreed 100%, have been running a 70mm tb for two mos now, is nothing to be gained, matter of fact, is coming off in a couple weeks and will go back to OEM, anyone interested in it?

You sounded pretty stoked about the possibility of 70mm TB in another post. You're a confusing dude. :)

What did you end up going with? Not interested in taking it off your hands. Just curious about all the options at our disposal.

If you are after the last bit of power possible, look into a larger mass air meter. It wouldn't be much, and likely all above 4000 RPM. Ask Doug or Wayne, they will suggest a tuning sesion to get the most from a larger MAF. They will also say that there isn't much to be gained, considering the price.

The V8 Explorers need better exhaust systems, front to back. The V6 SOHC has a good exhaust, and is a well developed factory engine. Search though all of the SOHC threads which the PCM tuners have made comments in. Good luck,

Am stoked Celly, to see Aldives Dyno numbers, is a 4.6 Mustang GT TB,is the only option for a SOHC V6 as the bolt pattern on a 5.0 TB will never work, is far larger.
