On a trip camping I was towing our boat up to the lake and I had noticed that the Temp. Gauge had shot up to H and so I pulled over and opened the hood and on the passenger side of the engine, antifreeze was leaking and a hose had broken in two, however the hose was connected by a black plastic piece that broke apart. Im not sure what it is but i reconnected the hose bypassing it and added antifreeze and it hasnt overheated since, im just wondering what the part is and how i can fix it or if its really needed. The piece was connected to the left hose.
Now to the leaf spring, i discovered this washer looking thing sitting out of the spring and I was wondering if that needs to be there or if someone hammered it in there for some reason and it just worked itself out.
