1994 4x4 XLT Ranger
I have a 94 Ranger, XLT 4x4. The A4LD is giving me problems so I want to swap it to 5 speed. I've done it to a few cars, but never a 4x4 truck. I tried looking around, found a few helpful articles, but I just wanted to confirm some questions I have.

I'm pretty sure I read that the manual trans all have the same dimensions 88-96(Somewhere around there), but do the transfer cases have to be changed? The case in the truck now is electric, I wouldn't mind going to a manual one but would prefer not to if I didn't have to.

Does anything else need to be changed? Driveshafts? I know with the cars I've done they all needed manual driveshafts installed. Any other helpful tips would be appreciated

What transfer case do you have now? I think its the borg warner 1354 electric shift. If so I would think a 5 speed from a 93-97 would work. Someone correct me if Im wrong.

than a 5 speed from an appropriate year should match up with the transfer case. what i dont know and you should check is if the transfer case was farther forward or farther back with an auto trans, thus shortening or lengthening the driveshafts.

the m50d is the same length as the a4ld, you shouldn't have to change dshafts or anything... tcases are the same as well. straight bolt in...
