5r55s install problems

Welp!
I topped off fluid (ran around town for about an hour, kept it running while putting up on a lift. Pumped in about 1/2 quart, then drained until the flow was sporadic) and I still don’t get reverse until about 20 seconds after shifting into R.
What should I try next?
Is it possible I have too much fluid? Would that cause my reverse issue?

Update:
I double checked the fluid. It was fine.
I finally took it to a transmission shop. He spent 5 minutes adjusting my shift cable and it works! Said it was engaging the neutral safety switch. He didn’t charge me anything! Boom!
She was doing great for about a week, then he battery started dying on me.
I noticed one of the reverse lights staying on, even when parked and off. I tried pulling the bulb, but that just caused the light on the other side to come on.
I’m told I need to reset the reverse switch on the transmission? Does anyone know how to do this or which connection is the reverse switch?

Here is my attempt. Can you please tell me why I do not hear the clunks…?

I think you need to lift up on it while pushing it. Give it some steady pressure. If not , you may have the wrong end of the shaft into the TC , one side has longer threads than the other.
