5R55W - it doesn't work in reverse anymore

I need your help to identify the 5R55W transmission defect. So far, the transmission has worked perfectly.
I switched in reverse, and without accelerating, the car began to move backwards, just as it starts when you select in the drive, the road being straight. The moment I accelerated slightly, a shock was heard and felt and no matter how much I accelerated, nothing happens, the car does not move back.
1, 2, 3, D, P, O / D - works perfectly!
R (Reverse) - no matter how much I accelerate the engine, nothing happens. If the road is straight, it moves slowly just as it moves in the Drive without accelerating.

Unfortunately it sounds like the reverse band has failed, you can remove the pan and see if you can tell if the band is broken. More than likely the transmission will have come out and be rebuilt.

If it is the reverse band in the picture, it is clear that the transmission must be dismantled.
From what I read, it is recommended the complete reconditioning of the transmission by a specialized workshop.

Yes the reverse band is the last thing left in the case when you take the transmission apart and the first thing installed when building this transmission.

I have same issue except reverse works in 4low. 2004 explorer xlt 4.0 v6 4x4 build date: 08/03

It also works for me in Reverse on Low, but up to a certain effort. If the effort increases, skate in Low.
