Ford 20m Cosworth V6
Now it`s been a couple months since I joined the forum, and it`s about time I post some pictures and tell you what goes on.

The car is a 1969 Ford 20m xl hardtop. I bought the car six years ago, and it is an ongoing restauration. The biggest change that has been done to the car is the engine and driveline. The old 2.3 had to go and I put in a 93` 2.9 24 valve V6 also known as the Cosworth V6. Keept the A4LD that came with the engine, made a 3" middle axle, chaged the gear ratio of the original rear axle and installed a zf diff from a european rally escort.

When I first desided what changes to do to the car, my main goal was to make a nice cruiser, take the wife and kids on a trip every now and then. But the car has proven itself as an exellent bracket racer.
Wheels are Junk Yard Dog from Boyd, had them custom made to fit my bolt circle.

This is what the stock first generation cosworth V6 looks like.

Here is a couple pictures of the enginebay as it is today, I made a new plenum for it. The plenum is part of what to come, saves me some very needed space for a single turbo setup. I have already made the turbo manifolds, if there is an interest to the project I can post pictures of them later.
These car`s are getting rare and there are hardly any aftermarked performance bits and pieses to buy, so everything has to be made in the garage.
Lot`s of changes has been done to the car.

Here is a picure of the car after I had it repainted, started cutting and welding first day of easter this year and worked around the clock for 9-10 day`s. Had to remove 1/2 square meter of plate + both wheel arches in the back. One H**L of a job, but the car was painted at april. 26. I won`t do that again..! :)

As mentioned the gearbox is a A4LD, I don`t know much about it so finding this forum has been like finding a gold mine for me. :)
Got a few questions about it and will post them later today.
This being a rare car in europe, and an exremely rare car in the US, I hope you like it. It is different, that`s for sure. :)

I made these last winter, as you can see from the pictures the inntake has been rebuilt since then, made and fitted the longest, straight runners possible. (better for torque and try to make sure all cyl. get equally much air when boosting).
Turbo project will be finnished this next winter.
Next on my list now is making a girdle/get arp bolts to strengten the bottom of the engine. I am also looking at way`s to make the A4LD box stronger, just bought a converter from a 98` 4.0 5r55e, looking for information about stall speed and if it is ok to shorten/reshape the pilot shaft to make it fit my gearbox.

Very nice indeed! What do you do for a living? I'm guessing some sort of engineer. Please keep us up-to-date with your progress.

It`s been a long time since I have posted any updates on the car, I thought I`d show what the turbosetup looks like now that it is finnished.

The engine is now running at 10 psi, that`s as high I can go with the stock pistons. VERY pleased with the results :)

Sorry to bump an old thread, but I just saw this while searching for Ford Cortinas and the like. This car is freakin' awesome! Too bad we didn't get them over here:( You Europeans get all the good toys!
