6x9 box as sub box

Could a 6x9 speaker box be modified to be used a sub box for a small MTX 8inch subwoofer? OR would it be to small of air space?

i wouldnt think so bc the box wouldnt be wide enough would it?

Why not just build a small box instead?

check the specs on the subwoofer, and i would worry about the depth. but a box is not hard at all but thats just me. it would not be that hard to cut it.

It'd sound terrible too. Might even sound worse than no box at all.
