I almost did! I asked around, and found that it could be done... but they suggested that if I was going to go that far, to modify it for round speakers instead. He had an explorer setup that had a 4" and a 6" speaker (or something like that..) side by side... other than doing that.. he said cutting to fit 6x9s was a waste of cash. I thought the same thing.. their being a better selection of 6x9s... but when I cracked open a crutchfield and looked at the 6x8s they had, they had some that performed just as well as the high end 6x9s... Aparently you see more of a diffrence to moving to a rounder (more easily controlled???) speaker.. oh well.. just what the guy said.. he seems perty good..
