8.8 rear questions???

Hi, I was wondering what the difference (besides gear ratio) there is between an 89 Lincoln LSC 8.8 rear that I just pulled out of a parts car for my street rod, and the 8.8 rear in my 97 Sport? I am doing some rear end noise troubleshooting and I am looking to swap the axle w/bearing and I was wondering if the splines were different. Anyway, if someone could shed some light on this situation for me, I would appreciate it.

if your Lincoln 8.8 is 31 spline, then not much
the ex uses a 31 spline 8.8 with large diameter 8.8 tubes

I think your car 8.8 is 28 spline

Oh, ok, yea I kinda figured that might be the case, maybee I will check with the lincoln forum guys and see if they know what size spline the Lincoln has, hey how hard is it to get that retainer pin out to pull the axle, I heard it was a real pain but I also heard that lower balljoints were hard to do untill I did them myself, ha!!
