90mm SCT MAF sensor

Ive never dynoed a 4.0 before so I had no idea what to expect as far as power was concerned.. but from looking on your site, you show a "before chip" 4.0 making 181! Im assuming it probably had CAI and exhaust too... I have a call into the shop where i dynoed to get the dyno sheets, but he was closed today. I should have them up tomorrow..

as far as weather was concerned, it was about 65 degree's out.... we had a good size fan blowing on the front of the vehicle like every car that is dynoed there.. It is a dynojet 248 and I am using SAE correction factors..

thanks bob

Hey Bob,

Yeah, that was Sadat's 2001 4.0 Automatic. He has a SSD4U cold air intake and Gibson cat-back exhaust. His was a 2wd Automatic as well. It was 84' degree's with 16% Humidity that day too so I guess it didn't make that big of a difference for the temps.

Like I said though those are great numbers for a tune, no matter what octane it's rated at. It seems that 200rwhp around here is the theoretical limit and if you can get close to that you're doing very good. Most 4.0's I tune with normal mods make around 195 rwhp and 225 rwtq with my 93 tuning.

thanks, Doug.

ranger dyno

well, here is the dyno graph..

It is very poor quality as the dyno owner doesnt know how to email it to me.. so, he printed it out and traced over it with a marker.. I will have the electronic version emailed to me hopefully tonite.. the a/f on the AFTER was 13 to 1 through the entire run at WOT..
This isnt even the right dyno pass.. but it show's where we were heading
Bottom line is that you can see the AVG power is way up everywhere...

Well it looks like Im going to be getting onto the dyno very soon, Talking with bob, we are going to get the MAF mounted and then tune it on the dyno again I will have some pics up very soon of the whole deal put in, Have to make an adapter to go between the MAF and the Air Cleaner. Ill let you know how that goes. Seeing the numbers bob was able to be pull from the 4.0 im very confident were going to be able to pull some great numbers. Well have to see and let the dyno numbers do the talking.

Also after this is all done i think i might have to challenge Troll for some Heads up quarter mile action... LOL

OK so I havent had much time latley to play around with this but finally got around to making up an aluminuim adapter piece to go from the MAF to a Conical K and N filter here is a pic of that setup and the MAF (The pictures isnt the greatest but give your a good idea, its off a camera phone)...enjoy
