How much would a good 4-6 inch cost? I know I can do the work myself and with the help of a few, but in dolar amount, how much? Im not going to be rock climbing or anything, but I will be up in the woods hunting. But something I could have a little fun with.

I have heard of lifts cost over a few grand once done.

you can get the super lift 5.5 inch lift for 599. and you can get the skyjacker 6 inch lift for around the same price

if you want extened radius arms with those kits it will run you around 300 extra.

does anyone have any pics of the 6" skyjacker lift? And how well is the ride quality? And what size tires did you do after the lift?

I put a 4" Superlift Suspension Lift ($650.00) and a 3" Body Lift ($80.00) om my "X". I also run 33x12 Pro Comp Mud Tires. The combo has been great for me, Trails, Mild Rocks and Mud have been no real problem.
I really enjoy driving my "X".
:)

where did you get these from? Is there a web sit. How much did everything together cost?

I bought mine from 4wheel parts wholesalers,. If you boy a copy of one of the 4-wheel drive magizines you will find several places that sell lifts and their prices. Look around as somebody is always having a sale or free shipping.

Make sure you kit includes extended front brake lines, if it doesn't you will have to purchase them seperately. there about $60.00 Good Luck and enjoy

I just had a bit of work done on my 91XLT at the local Ford dealer. Nothing serious, but my brakes were shot and my window gearing stripped and the motor for the power windows went out. While I was there, I talked to one of the guys and he told me that to get a 4" Superlift it would run somewhere around $2500 for installation. Its great that the lift kits can be bought for such a low price, but what you generally have to look at is whether you are able to install the lift kit yourself, or if you have to get somebody else to do it for you. That is where to big bucks are spent.

You can install the lift your self, it took me two days. Or my local 4x4 shop "1st Capitol Wheel Drive" would have charged $700.00 to install. A good 4x4 shop can install the lift in one day. A body lift will take you about 1 day with two people. Installation cost would be about $400.00. Both are easy to install, if you take your time and follow the instructions.
The hardest part of the suspension lift, is drilling the rivets out of the front original suspension mounting points. That took me several hours, just time consuming. Other wise its all bolt on.

I have a 92 EB 4x4 with the Skyjacker class2 6" lift. It has 33x12.50-15 tires mounted on the factory rims for right now. I got the lift brackets and extended radius arms from someone on the site, all other parts I got from 4wheelparts. I got around $1200 tied up in tires and lift at this point.

The front tires do rub a little bit when off roading. The rub only happens when flexing the truck and turning at the same time.

Here are a couple of pics.

Here is BKennedy's truck which has the Superlift 5.5" level 2 system running 35" tires with alittle fender trimming.

I would recommend avoiding Superlift. I sure wish I would have saved up to do a solid axle up front or at least gotten the Skyjacker lift instead. There is a big difference in the quality of the two. Superlift does have really good customer service though.

I can't comment on Skyjacker, but I can say that I have never had any problems with my Superlift. I know that some of there earlier model kits had problems but they made some modifications, and as I said I haven't had any problems with mine and I have done a fair amount of wheeling. I did replace their shocks after two years with Rancho, but only because I prefer Rancho shocks.

I don't think you will go wrong with either company.:)

look in my sig and my photo gallery. I have 6" class II with 33's.

good luck
