hi all been a while since i have been here always been tons of help and lookin for more.
there was a post with regards to the transfer case shifting motor_electronic 4wd. last year i found the post, removed the motor and cleaned the armatuer and bingo we had 4wd instantly.
all was workin good then it quit, no more shift in and out of 4wd. it was spring and was parkin truck so i left it until summer, and thought while it is warm i will clean it up again and be ready for the snow.
did that and it worked again , parked truck and used it very little in the summer. didn't even use 4wd at all. now the snow is here and no 4wd!!!!!! ok so the ?????? is.
primary reason i think is dirty contacts, the 2 contacts that run on the side of the armatuer, is there to be a coating on them that comes off after time and leaves the residue to stop contacts or ????.
did i miss something or ??? .
thanks in advance for ne input with regards to this matter.
p.s. goin out there today to fix it again as there is a foot of snow on the ground and gotta drive truck for work tomorrow
thanks hardee
