93 limited with a headlight problem.

I just recently bought a 1993 limited, Saturday I came home and my headlights would not shut off. I turned off both buttons on the auto dimming mirror, but no use so I disconnected the battery. Went out Sunday and hooked the battery back up and the lights started flashing as though the alarm was going off. They quit after about 2 minutes but would do it again erratically throughout the day. At work this morning a coworker asked me why the lights were flashing, I went out and messed with it for about 5 min and they would not shut off so I un hooked the battery again. I first unhooked the anti theft module in back and they quit but also the truck would not start. Any ideas where to start.
