Hi all, ive been swapping this 94 explorer motor into a 91 bronco ii for this fellow. all is great with the swap after the wiring fiasco on the drivers fender melding the bronco harness with the explorer engine harness its great. im getting a intermittent check engine light...weird because the KOEO test shows 1-1 being A-ok. it dawned on me as I was wiring up this motor even while on the motor stand I never saw a camshaft position sensor as im used to seeing, you know the usual black cap thing with a spout for wires to hook up. all I remember seeing was a flush cap bolt/screw in place where the sensor usually goes, actually now I think of it there is not even a pigtail on the engine harness back there for a sensor. and this was the original harness and computer for this engine. can anyone shed some light on this issue. there is also no EGR sensor on this engine, you know the 2 rubber hose lines coming from drivers manifold, not there at all. like I said I got this motor complete. let me know if you have any ideas of what gives here.
Like I said it runs fine and computer test passes.
I would be thrilled to know if this is a special purpose motor?

If there's no EGR it may not be a 94 motor. I assume you mean 90 B2 as the Explorer started in 91?

94 should have had EGR. You can tell just by looking at the drivers side of the upper intake manifold, as that is where the EGR valve bolts up. 94 should also have a cam position sensor. If you have neither item, it is unlikely to be a 94 model motor. If it runs fine and passes KOEO and KOER tests, don't worry about it.
