94 explorer 2wd transmission slipping when shifting to 3rd for a second, rpm,s come up about 500. the transmission has a 150000 miles on it and the fluid has never been changed since i bought it with 40000 miles on it in 1995. the transmission does leak little so over the past few year i know i have put at least 2 bottles of lucas trans fix in it plus atf when ever its low. does anyone think changing the oil and filter would fix this slipping problem? the explorer has done a little bit of towing, maybe 2000 miles.
