94 explorer XLT need help please!

I just got this 94 explorer XLT 4x4 and the dealer said it was 180k and on the gauge it shows 89,000. Im pretty sure its 180k. Well i was having a problem with it starting everytime and foudn the problem and fixed it. I added a flowmaster exhuast and gave it a oil change. But the car seems to have a lil trouble accelerating. When i press the gas at a green light it takes about 3-5 secs for the RPM's to get up there. Any suggestions? This is my first 4x4 ford i have been looking for a while and this was the best i found at a dealer for $2000. Also any tips on modifications to my 94 Ford Explorer 4x4.[SIZE]

Hit it with some seafoam, spark plugs, and wires. Might want to do the throttle mod too, videos in the link in my signature.

Welcome to this forum! Replace the fuel filter, air filter, and PCV valve. Clean the throttle body, mass air flow sensor, and the idle air control solenoid valve.

Thank You! I'm getting my fan clutch and fan blade tomorow and a tune up. Anything else you guys recommend I do to it to increase the HP, tourqe, and acceleration?

I just got my fan and fan clutch replaced. My explorer runs better and takes alonger time to reach normal heat on my Temp gauge. Im just not sure what to do the next? I will have pics up in a few days.

My friend just got a 94 xlt in green color too he got it for 1300 and it has 99k miles and it looks brand new.

His is 4x4 and fully loaded with leather seats

I just got the fan and fan clutch replaced but i drove it around for about 30 to 45 mins and it barely got pased the C line not by much though. Is that normal?

It's possible that either the sending unit is defective or you might have a thermostat that is stuck in the open position.

Oh ok is it something I should worry about? It should be fine right?

It's better for the engine to work at the correct temperature.

Definitely the thermostat. Heres a vid on a 5.0. Also explains what a thermostat does.

I got new Monroe sensa trac shocks in front and monroe reflex in back. Is that ok?

how much lift do u want?cause u can always do the coil seat and get 2" front lift,and u can get 2" shackles for the rear to raise it 2"..u can clear 31's maybe 32 or 33's with a little trimming,i have 31x10.50 on mine and it was all stock when i put them on
