96 ford ranger

hello I have a ford ranger 96 with a 2.3 5 speed. it has a blown motor what kind of motor can I fit to it? or will work? to keep the same size engine and without having to many problems? any ideas or suggestions.. ??? thanks

No question, simply sticking another 2.3 is the quickest, easiest solution.

After that, converting to a 2.5 I4, 3.0 or 4.0 V6 using Ranger and/or Explorer/Mountaineer bits or even a V8 from an Expo/Mounty are all pretty easy.
