Well, so far so good. Got about 150 miles or so, with no codes. Looks like is WAS the EGR after all. And putting it back together I realized that the margin for "closed" is not 0V-.72V, it is actually a smaller margin than that because the "closed" position will actually still push on the sensor. I might measure it one day, just to see how close it is. Only reason I can figure they do this is so that they know they are getting a good signal, say if they get .5V at closed, instead of 0 volts.
Oh well, $200 (EGR *and* sensor) and 6-8 months later, it looks like I might finally have this fixed. Keeping my fingers crossed though, just in case.
