What are the biggest size tires that can fit on a stock 97 Explorer Sport 2WD? Later on i'm planning on a lift, but I need some tires pretty quick and just don't have the time for an upgrade of both. Thanks.

31X10.5 R15's
And running the 31x10.5 R15's won't put a whole lot of strain on my transmission or force me to re-gear it? And is there enough clearance without a lift? Just asking since I noticed these are the tires you say you run and you have a 5.5 inch lift if I can remember correctly.......

I have a 2" lift, but had these tires before I did the torsion bar lift. Here is a picture of it "stock" with the 31's.
