Ok I have a 1997 Explorer Sport and I am looking at putting a solid front axle. I also want to put in coil overs and a lift... First of all where do I start and where should I look. Also, how much should I look to shell out? Im at the point that my ball joints need to be replaced and I am trying to convince my parents that this is a good choice. Please HELP ME!!!

Welcome to the site. You can check out the solid axle registry on this site to find answers to all your questions. You can spend anywhere from $2k to as much as you want for one.

Needing new ball joints is hardly a justified reason to remove an entire axle and steering setup, and fabricate another trucks axle and steering onto yours. You just want a SAS, and I think you'll have a hard time convincing your parents. Especially if they see what is actually involved. Is this "their" truck, and their money for the SAS?
