97 v8 tranny swap to 01 HELP

i got more barke fluid but havent had anyone to help me with it so will have to wait on the brakes. the heat doesnt work either. my friend that owned the truck b4 me said one of his friends dads tested it and he said that he disconnected one of the line to the heater core and the fluid was flowing through so its not clogged and i know its not leaking in the cabin. my friend said that he said the heater core needs replacing does that make sense? what would cause this and what can i do to check the problem? thanks

It sounds like it had a leak, and they stopped the water flow to it to stop the interior leak. Look under the hood at the heater control valve, near the firewall. There should be a vacuum line connected to it. If the lines are all hooked up then test it to confirm the leak. If it really does have a need for a heater core, that's a hard job, it's in the dash behind the glovebox.

i dont think it was ever leaking in the cabin. he would have mentioned that. he also gets information mixed up. i do know for fact that the heat slowly went out. it could be played with for a while and get to work till one day it wouldnt know at all. i think everything is still connected. and it seems that both lines are hot the one going in and out but i need to check again to be sure. what else could it be?

ok i bleed the brakes again they are a lot better amost 100% now i think its either the front brakes need to break in or a little more bleeding thanks

Excellent, brake fluid is cheap and most of us don't change it often enough, me too.

Hey guys, I am new to forums and just picked up my x and transmisson was out of it. I bought what a guy said was a trans out of a 97 explorer for 100 dollars. When i went to hook up the wiring harness the plugs were different my plug on the truck has the 3 12v+ wires and the plug on the trans misson only has 1 12v+. so I found a diagram to rewire my harness and i did i got it from here http://www.tccoa.com/articles/tranny/transmission/page16.shtml

I started it up put in gear and cel came on so i checked codes and these codes came up

P0743
P0750
P0755
P1747

Was the diagram wrong i obviously have something wrong. 2 of the 12v+ wires I eliminated i cut off and have them temporarily elec taped but not together.

Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks Steve
