thanks for the comments guys, yes the front is wider than the back, and inch wider per side but that is just from the spindle i am using. as for jumping it, the only thing i have done is pull the lower shock mounting bolts off of the lower control arm. a $1.50 fix. nothin broken other than that tho

What are the advantages of having a wider front end (if any). Im east coast...we dont do any of that crazy jumping over here  .Is it for stablitity? I always thought of being as small as possible, while still stable, as to not hit as many trees on the tight trails around here...but then again there are no trees in the desert.

for me there are no advantages of being wider, its just how the spindle is made. i guess it would make it a little more stable but i never thought of that. most of the time when you see trucks with with the wider front ends its because they have long travel suspension.

i get the whole long travel deal, i was just wondering if you had it done for a specific reason. But no reason is a good one! :p

fricken sweet!

I realize that this thread is preeeety darn old but Big Dave, I was wondering if you could give me tips on installing spindles. I'd like to buy some and have been told about a place that still sells some but I'd like to know what the difficulty is on installing them.

Did you run into any problems, any advice for prepping and after installation, anything I'd run into?

If anyone else can answer this as well, I would appreciate it!
