'99 Explorer 5.0 AWD P/S pump

Hello All!

I am new to the forums and want to say hello I have a question that hopefully one of you would be able to answer. Like my tread title says, I have question about the power steering pump. My truck has just turned 200K and still runs perfect, but about three months ago the P/S started making alot of noise, so today I replaced it and the noise is still there. The noise is a loud growling sound that you can hear over everything. Is there something I am missing? Is there a special fluid I shoud be using? Any help is appreciated.

I think you might try bleeding it-
With engine running-
Slowly turn the wheel to the left-but stop before full lock-now to the right-stop right before full lock-
now slowly go all the way left, then slowly to center and to the right. Slowly work the wheel back and forth to the extremes a few times, refilling as needed.This will force the air into the reservoir.
It should quiet down now-

Okay, I'll give the bleeding a try. Should I do a full system flush? Is there any special fluid I should use? Thanks
