I am selling my stock 15x7 '99 Explorer wheels which have 30x9.5-15 tires on them. A local guy with a '96 Ranger is interested and I want to make sure they will fit. I can always throw one on the front to make sure, but I'd like to check here first.

I know the offset between the two vehicles can either be the same or different depending on the submodel. The other thing that concerns me is the difference in front axle--and that the Ranger has 15x6 wheels stock, correct?

Anybody done a swap like this?

...This should be of some help with tire sizes for the Ranger as it may have the stock 29" tires on it...;)

.....I believe all Ranger/Explorer wheels for the years mentioned were 15x7 with Some Explorers having 16x7 width and some Rangers having 14x7 width...15 x 7 size would work on the 96 Ranger...

...This is a common stock Ranger/Explorer 15x7 wheel with 31x10.50's on a 95 4wd Ranger...

Clearance looks roughly the same as the 31s on my Explorer. It should work as long as he has 4wd.

Is the hub/brake assembly the same between the TTB & IFS suspension?

......Are you trying to swap other parts rather than just the wheels???

...You can pull one of his and one of your wheels and do some measuring for other clearances if you are...There is also some useful info to be found in my signature...;)

No just swapping the rims/tires, but just concerned about rim clearance issues due to the different front suspension.

I'll probably just end up throwing one on and checking for clearance. Would only take a few minutes. Thanks for the help

should clear just fine!! :-)
