So I ended up buying a 99 ranger front end with the pvh hubs, and converted them to where I can manually lock and unlock them. Now all I need to get a 1354 and 5 speed 4wd trans, What I dont know is which drive shafts I will need, I guess my best bet would be a ranger front shaft or will any explorer front shaft work, would a 2nd gen ex shaft bolt up to a 1354, and for the rear I would imagine I can only use a sport rear from a 1st gen?

Thanks, Chase

not sure on the front shaft length but only a 95-96 front shaft will bolt to the 1354

It would depend on what year and what truck the 1354 came out of. 98-00 ranger cases have the same front and rear output as the explorers. If you get a case from a ranger in those years it's a 1 for 1 swap and you can use your drive shafts.

When I did a manual t-case on a 98 4x4 conversion last year I put in a 94 front drive shaft, so 91-94 Explorer would work just fine.
