I believe that the A/C Compressor on my 94 XLT has gone out. I tried a few things to diagnose it that I found on these forums and I'm still not sure. The compressor will not turn on. I tried swapping the A/C-WOT relay and it did not come on. Next I tried jumping the low- pressure switch on the accumulator/ drier (hopefully I checked the correct spot on this, If someone could post a pic it would be great), that didn't affect anything either. Lastly; I jumped the compressor with 12v from the battery and it engages and spins. However when it kicks on it squeals very badly and a pink dust comes out of the compressor. Also after a few seconds the compressor will seize up and stop spinning. I am pretty sure the compressor needs replaced and will likely be replaced no matter if its the actual cause or not. I am mostly wondering if there is a reason why jumping the compressor will turn it on while checking the other items wouldn't (some safety in the compressor maybe). Thanks for the help.

Just so you know,if the compressor came apart internally,it might have spewed aluminum all thru your system.I don't know how they clean the lines out these days with all of the environmental crap. But it can get expensive.

Just a heads up.:D
