Hello, I have a 91sport. I plan on charging the system. Do i charge it to the fitting that located on the accumalator? Also i used that method of unhooking the low pressure switch and jump the connector, sure enough it stayed on. But still i did"nt get any cold air is it probably because i had the connector jumped?

See, I'm a little more educated now then I was just a few days ago. Your low presure switch is just for that, low presure. As soon as it detects low freon presure it shots down the comressor. When you bridge the connectors and still have low presure of freon or no freon at all you still get no cold air even though the compressor works. You have to fill-up with freon. Now, your system could still use the old type of refrigerant which was called R12. Don't add R134a refrigerant to this system unless it has been converted. Check under the hood first to make sure you are using the right type of refrigerant. Even if you have system using R12 you can convert to R134a very easy. All you have to do is to buy the conversion kit that replaces a few fittings and refrigerant plus system oil. To fill your system you connect to low side of the system. That would be on top of the evaporator, valve is located just the opposite of the low presure switch. Well, I hope all this helps.

I personaly think the conversion kit is a waste, I did my Licoln 2 years ago, first you have to take it to a shop and have them vac the system, they charged me $25
(and I believe they ripped me) they said if there was any freon left in the system they would not charge, because they keep the r-12 freon and recycle it, guess what,, no freon in the system so I got hit $25.
The kit is simple to change yourself and recharge, but it only lasts one year. The r-134 molecules are smaller and slowly leak from and r-12 system, then you cant go back to r-12, because nobody will recharge the system due to contamination of the r-134 going into there r-12 system. And they wont use there r-134 because of the same reasons.
So you are stuck buying the refill cans every year, and its not as cold.
Then I guy I know who works on commercial freezers and stuff, said I should have had the old oil drained out of the compressor after I had it vaced, which means I would have had to remove it and drain it.

Ikinda figure that what that switch is there for. Just wanted to verify that was low presure side. Some peop[le say i can pour it in since it on top of the evaporator use the hose of course

Matter of preference. R12 was good but now is almost extinct. If you know someone with acces to R12, good for you but if you're one of the unlucky ones that don't have such access then you got to do whatever it takes to get the A/C going. Conversion is probably the only way. I don't think they fix systems with R12 in them and then fill back with R12. And what's the big deal if you have to buy a couple of cans of R134a once a year? How does it compare to $50.00 for fillup of R12??? (I knew the guy but he still charged me 50 bucks).
Well, hope yours works OK. Good luck!
