I personaly think the conversion kit is a waste, I did my Licoln 2 years ago, first you have to take it to a shop and have them vac the system, they charged me $25
(and I believe they ripped me) they said if there was any freon left in the system they would not charge, because they keep the r-12 freon and recycle it, guess what,, no freon in the system so I got hit $25.
The kit is simple to change yourself and recharge, but it only lasts one year. The r-134 molecules are smaller and slowly leak from and r-12 system, then you cant go back to r-12, because nobody will recharge the system due to contamination of the r-134 going into there r-12 system. And they wont use there r-134 because of the same reasons.
So you are stuck buying the refill cans every year, and its not as cold.
Then I guy I know who works on commercial freezers and stuff, said I should have had the old oil drained out of the compressor after I had it vaced, which means I would have had to remove it and drain it.
