I am thinking about getting some chrome rims when I save up enough money. What I am wondering is that I have always heard that you shouldn't leave chrome rims on during the winter because of salt damage. Is there any truth to this. A lot of new cars are coming with chrome rims and they obviously don't give them an extra set to change off in the winter. Also, would there be anybody aound here that would be interested in my stock rims and tires? They only have 14,000 miles on them. Here are some pics: http://www.sounddomain.com/member_p...model=Explorer Sport&tree=Ford Explorer Sport I believe they are 235/75/15.

Some of the members here have taken off their "nicer" wheels for the winter...It doesn't hurt to have spare set or stock wheels around, just in case.

Keep the stockers for winter. Aftermarket wheels are more sensative to the harsh salt. Also how many factory chrome wheels have you seen that look good about 5 yrs old?

Good point. The only reason I'm asking, is that I don't have all that much storage space, and rims and tires take up a lot of room. Oh well, guess I'll be clearing some junk out of my garage.

I just noticed you have an O1 Sport. Have you checked out my home page? I have a lot done to my sport. Let me know if you need any help doing anything to it.

Actually I have visited your page quite a few times. I really like your X. I like a lot of the things that you have done, kinda wish I knew as much about mod's as you do. I have a lot of big plans for my X, just don't know how to do them all. I've been meaning to email you about some Dynamat, I remember reading a thread somewhere that you can get it for cheap and was wondering how cheap. I want to do the whole X. Most of my plans are on hold until the summer(it's a little cold to do anything extensive here), but I appreciate the offer, and I'm sure you will be hearing from in the future.

I would spend a little extra and go with aluminum wheels. You will also decrease your unsprung weight with aluminum as aposed to steel.
