Hey guys, I have been looking around and searching and I haven't really found any information on how to Install coil seats from the F-150 on the first generation explorers. I need to raise the front up a little so I can fit 33's or 32's. Do you think I can fit that big of a tire under my explorer, from the pics?My '93 XLT As you can see my explorer has sort of a 'nose-down' look to it because i have a 3inch Body lift and shackles in the back. I was wondering if anyone has any information or pictures to help me install the seats/spacers. Also I was wondering how much rock crawler steel rims affect gas mileage, because of their weight. Anyone notice a big decrease in mpg?? Do you guys think that if I got 32x11.50 buckshot mudders on stock rims, would that look stupid because theres no backspacing?? Thanks guys if you could help me out let me know!

The spacers install under the coil springs (between the spring and the axle housing). I doubt you'll be able to run 32's on the stock wheels without major rubbing issues, due to the back spacing.

32's will fit with no lift depending on how bad the front is saging, I had 32's with stock rims and no lift and little trimming on the plastic..

hey do i install the coil spacers by removing the nut in the center of the coil spring or do i have to compress the coil spring?

the nut. no need to compress the spring

thanks codepoet, if you could look at my explorer and give me your input on if you think i could fit 33s or even 32 without trimming my fender? cause my car just looks low still after the body lift, i think. i just dont want to order the tires and have them not fit right, ya know, thanks

thanks alot jim for your help, It looks easy to install, now i just gotta order the spacers and im good to go!

wow buckshotmudder I like your explorer, you dont have any rubbing issues, im thinking of putting 33" buckshot mudders on a 16" rockcrawler rim, or a 32" buckshot on stock rim like you check my ride out let me know what you think clicck --http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2200986
