A possible Before/After of my truck!

As some of y'all know, I'm gonna be adding 3.73's, a limited slip, a 3" body lift, and 32" BFG A/T's in the next few months. I'm trying to change the way the truck looks, and today I got an idea that I really like.

How my truck looks right now:

My (possible) plans, but without lift/tires:

First off, the truck will end up 3" higher with 32" BFG A/T's. Replace all the chrome with black pieces, swap out my rims for black rockcrawler rims (they're cheap, too!), add a ConFerr roof rack, clear corners, Herculiner on the lower body panels (below the body molding), tint the front windows (only ones untinted now) and replace the Ford emblems I have now with the colored ones in a metallic gray. What do yall think?

I think when it comes to a color of a car or truck... Black is Beautiful. That really looks sweet, not to mention what it would look like lifted and bigger tires. I've never seen a black bumper before, but it does look good.

BTW, nice photoshop work too.

well it looks like you've done your mods already now you don't have to go out and buy a roof rack or paint your grill black. saves you much work, eh?

Thanks guys. A friend of mine has a Ranger with the black front end, so we're gonna trade bumpers, and I'll just sand the chrome off my grille and headlight trim pieces and paint them black. Now all I'll have to do is find a black rear bumper, since I'll be coating the fender pieces in herculiner along with the lower half of the doors and rocker panels. I can't wait to get this stuff started, I'm stoked!

Eh, maybe a slight bit. I gotta say Mike, your truck looks incredible with the new lift and tires.

I'm trying to figure out if I should just go with the Rockcrawler rims, or have my 589's powdercoated black... it would be different, not sure if it would look good or not though. I kinda like how the Rockcrawlers have the "open" look to them, but the powdercoated 589's could have a cool look... guess I'll have to do some more Photoshop work to see

If you screw one up being silly, you can replace it for $45....

Why are you going to get 3.73's?. If you are going to get 32's and spend the time and money to have the gears replaced, why not get 4.10's? You will like the torque a lot more.

4.10 on 32 would be sweet, also why buy a black rear bumper, why not herc that also?

Just a suggestion (not sure if it will work) what about sanding (grinding) down the rear bumper and applying the herculiner to it as well?

As for the 3.73's, I do a lot of highway driving (to and from class twice a day), so I don't want to give up all my highway power. I know they aren't the best gears for offroading, but I don't do too much hard wheeling anyways.

About the rear bumper, I've gotta find out if I'll be able to use the bumper I have now and put Herculiner on it. If I can get a suitable finish where it will stick, then I'll just do that. I'll probably end up Herculining both the front and rear bumpers so it will flow better with the covered rockers, I just gotta figure out if I'll be able to get the chrome off the rear bumper.

Well I just made a deal with my friend who has the Ranger with the black bumper... I'm gonna sell him my rims (no tires), front bumper, and grille for $250 plus his bumper. That'll at least pay for the rockcrawlers

bigDerk, what kind of lift are you running in the first picture? and what size tires you got on their too??

1.5" F150 coil spacers up front, and 1.75" Warrior Shackles (WAR 153) in the rear. Running 15x8 Eagles with 31x10.50 ProComp MT's.
