i've searched and tried to find out how step by step on how to remove the tranny and transfer case? any help would be great!

You should get a repair manual (Haynes or Chiltons), but to sum it up:

With the vehicle in Neutral and tires blocked off:
- Remove both driveshafts
- Disconnect all electrical connections to the transfer case
- Remove the transfer case
- Remove exhaust pipes under the transmission if necessary
- Remove the torque converter nuts (accessible through the starter hole. to get to the next nut, rotate the engine in the direction it cranks with a socket on the crankshaft pulley)
- Disconnect the transmission cooler lines from the side of the transmission.
- Disconnect all electrical connections to the transmission
- Remove transmission cross-member if necessary (support the transmission with a transmission jack, or similar).
- Remove bolts that holds the transmission to the engine
- Slide the transmission back making sure the torque converter does not slide off and fall to the ground. Once the torque converter clears the engine's output shaft, lower the transmission jack.

I'm sure I missed plenty so get a repair manual ;) Its well worth it.
