A Sad day in my life...

So I get a call while I was at work yesterday from my wife. It turns out that my mother in law borrowed our 2001 Explorer sport yesterday and thought it would be a good idea to run a red light. Now my explorer looks like the HULK right-crossed the whole front of the car. I'm not sure whats going to happen with the insurance but I am preparing for the worse. My truck is totaled now and sitting in my driveway. Thanks god it isn't my daily driver but we did use it as our camping/towing vehicle and as an extra car just incase my work truck ever died. No comp and collision on the insurance.

I'm contemplating just getting another Sport because I have put a lot of work and new parts into the totaled one and I can find them cheap and replace any bad/worn out parts. What years are the same as the 2001; parts, body style, etc?

Are the 4 doors around that year the same mechanically?

Sorry to hear, you didn't mention if your mother in law was OK, only that the vehicle was totaled (hopefully that means she's OK!).

But just in case your wife reads your post, I'd at least acknowledge the fact that her Mother was in that truck and it was a much worse sad day for both them. Not to mention the other driver/passangers.
