Well here it goes, I have a 1998 explorer sport with a 5R55E transmission. I brought it in to a local shop after having transmission problems to have them put in a used one. I figured with a one year warranty, it was not that bad of a deal. Well here is were the problems are, after I pick my truck up on Tuesday, I decided to take a look underneath and noticed that they neglected to tighten the two nuts that secure the transfer case. Okay no problem, and now I am picking my truck up for the second time and made it about a 10 miles and my steering wheel starts shaking violently, like my front tires are going to fall off! After pulling off the highway I take a look at my front end and did not see anything obviously wrong. I called my buddy and get a second opinion was told to check my driveshaft. Hmmmm... It seems they forget to tighten them as well as I see one of the bolts that hold the rear drive shaft is sticking out about 1/4 inch. So after one ride in the tow truck, and a allot of frustration later here is my question. Could a loosened drive shaft cause the symptom that I have.

a loose driveshaft can cause vibrations if that is what you are asking....

...and if the shaft was not reinstalled exactly the way it was taken off.
