I just finished rebuilding a spare VB for my A4LD. Transgo kit, Sonnax parts, etc. (per Glacier991's diary...). Installed it this morning. Hmmm...the tranny behaves much the same way as it did before the rebuild; 3-4 second delay going into Reverse, 4-5 second delay going into Drive, very soft shifts through all forward gears. Other than that, it seems to passing the torque through fine... kick downs (low speed and high speed) fine (but soft). I adjusted both bands to spec., checked modulator valve for oil contamination (none).
Searching for component(s) that may be causing this mushiness...
I do have another tranny sitting alongside the house (sans VB and pan -- which I modified to have a drain plug, and installed with the rebuilt VB!). Really don't want to swap trannys yet...
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
