well, i discovered one of my problems about 10 seconds after i got my new rebuilt VB out of the box. When i did my rebuild, i neglected to make sure the solenoid bracket as seated around the valve. it was keeping all the solenoids in the correct place but was keeping the valve pushed in instead of holding it.
Anyway, i got the new one up, got it all back together, filled the trans fluid, and away she went. shifts are solid and strong, no lights, and a happy owner. Kind of an expensive lesson in nomenclature and attention to detail... but i guess now i have peace of mind, and a properly rebuilt vb.
