A4LD won't shift???

Ok guys here is the sitiuation I am in. I have a 94 4x4 navajo and I recently put another 4.0 in it. The transmission was rebuilt about 1,000 miles ago and was filled with semi-synthetic merc/dex. So now if you put it in drive it will drive but won't shift at all but you can put it in 1st and manually shift it to
2nd and it will change gears. I have checked the fluid and its full and both of my connectors are hooked up to the transmission. Also I did not remove the transmission when I pulled the motor and I replaced the dust plate between the motor and transmission. Any help is greatly appreciated.

if it's shifting manually from low to second, your problem is most likely the governor.

search "the stickies' for info on cleaning/repairing/replacing your governor.

Noticed you said you change the motor so u might wanna check and make sure both ends of the vacuum modulator line is connected as this will cause a no shift condition too.
