2005 Explorer, new front wheel bearings. When you accelerate you get either a small shutter or grinding noise for a little then it goes away. It seems to happen the first time you drive it after it sits for a little. The ABS light stays on, once in a while the AdvTrac light comes on but no codes come up on the scanner. Any ideas or suggestions are welcome. Thanks for the time in advance.

You don't say who installed them, or where the parts came from. But sounds like you have typical bearing issues. Did they torque them properly? Defective parts, or installer?

Hello. The new wheel bearings were installed by a local mechanic who is trusted but I realize anything is possible. Before I go that route, we are going to change the wheel speed sensors, then I will see about this as well. Thanks for the recommendation!!!

Well I recently had some Moog front wheel bearings and one of them was sheering off the wheel speed sensor, I replaced the sensor twice same result. It was determined to have an internal defect inside the unit bearing

Using cheap wheel bearings like Detroit axle and anything under $100 each, well let’s just say that is a bad idea with these rigs. Some of the bearings out there are like $40 each and should never be shipped let alone installed imo
