AC leak and egr issue 96 exp v8 EB

Hi folks new to the forums got 2 quick questions if anyone might be able to guide me in the right direction

First i have this lovely AC leak in which all the freon dumps outta my system within about 1-2 days after having it full charged from a shop. Blows ice cold soon as its charged but by the next day i got nothing. Ive ran dye threw the system and nothing is jumping out at me. Anyone got any thoughts as to common leak areas that may be semi hidden from just a general look over?

Second i have an error code from the egr saying that there is low flow. I recently replaced the EGR valve itself and cleaned out the intake of carbon buildup. Also ran seafoam threw it once i put it all back together to clear out any extra carbon i happened to miss. The code still popped up afterwords and the anoying tick ping or whatever youd like to call it sound still exists. When i ran the seafoam i also used it as a chance to check for leaks in the exhaust but didnt see any.

These issues have been troubling me for awhile and i finally have enough cash to fix them along with my rack and pinion i just cant find the source of the problem.

If your EGR is new, replace your EGR position sensor. It's about $25.

You may want to check your DPFE sensor. Reading on this forum, this is a common problem to 5.0s.

There was no DPFE sensor on the V8 in 96

Ck the rubber vacuum hoses that go to the egr, they rott out.

hoses are fine ill try out the positioning censer, that will throw the low flow error code eh?

Any thoughts as far as my ac leak goes? youd think with such a large leak it would be totally odvious but it is baffling me.

Yes the sensor will throw excessive flow and/or low flow codes.

As for your AC, your leak may be coming from some place that isn't easily visible, like the condenser and components that are near the firewall/behind the dash.

If you can't see the A/C leak, my guess is it's in the evaporator. Have a shop "sniff" your interior vents with an a/c leak detector. It will most likely go nuts with a leak that big.

ok so ive ran a test on the position sensor and vaccum solenoid to no avail. parts guy told me to check the valve pressure sensor but i have no idea where its located at. anyone happen to know where i might find the lil bugger and the resistance specs/proper voltage it should be recieving?

AC leak has been found front seal in the compressor is shot . hada use sniffer to find it cuz the leaks gettin the dye spun off by the clutch so you couldnt see it. EGR ill have figured out hopefully by monday as thats more important then ac atm since its finally startin to cool off in florida. Anyone know what kinda dmg can be caused by having a spark knock?

The pressure sensor is near the middle of the engine, to the right of the intake tube. It has a cylinder shaped plastic head and will have one electrical connector and two vacuum lines going to it.

yea that seems to be the problem took it to my buddys shop and he hooked it up to a real diag tool and found the exact problem. the parts store one gave me a list of options to choose from lol

Correction its the vacuum solenoid that's bad
